Ricardo Amaral nasceu a 24 Novembro de 1989 na ilha de São Miguel, Açores. Desde os 12 anos que segue as ondulações do Atlântico, tendo crescido na nova geração de bodyboarders micaelenses. Aos 15 anos descobre o mundo das objectivas e junta-as ao seu fascínio pelas ondas. Em 2007 muda-se para Lisboa para estudar Engenharia Civil, onde reside e continua à procura das melhores condições pelo país. Aos 18 anos publica a sua primeira fotografia na Vert Bodyboard Magazine, revista portuguesa com a qual colabora até hoje. Adora viajar e move-se em busca de boas ondas e bodyboard progressivo.

Ricardo Amaral was born on November 24th, 1989 in the Island of Sao Miguel, Azores. He follows the swells of the Atlantic Ocean since he was 12 years old, having grown with the new generation of bodyboarders on the island. At age 15, he discovered the world of photography and joined it to his fascination with waves. In 2007 he moved to Lisbon to study Civil Engineering, where he lives and searches the best conditions for bodyboarding. When he was 18, he published his first photograph on the portuguese Vert Bodyboard Magazine, with which he colaborates until this day. He loves to travel and search for the best waves and progressive bodyboarding.
